Sentry To Stream COAL Monthly 15
PITTSBURGH, PA – On April 13th, 2024, Sentry’s stream team will be at COAL Monthly 15 in none other than Morgantown, West Virginia! Sentry Esports is proud to partner with WVU Smash for this incredible tournament series not far from our home base in the Steel City.
COAL is the mainstay monthly tournament series that’s been on brief pause for their annual event, Almost Heaven, and returns with its 15th iteration this spring! Located in the Mountainlair Rhododendron Room, COAL Monthly 15 will feature Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles and Doubles, Super Smash Bros. Melee Singles and Doubles, and even Guilty Gear -Strive- Singles!
The stakes are high – after all, COAL Monthly 15 is a part of the WV Summit Circuit, where players receive points based on their placement for the opportunity to be invited to the WV Summit. Because of this, many of WV Smash’s best players have already registered, and are ready to claim the prize.
Tei Tenga is ranked #3 in WV, and hails from MD/VA originally. Now a WVU student, Tei Tenga won Three River Rumble #93 with Ryu, beating Spliced, Coggles, and Immortal twice along the way.
Rapid, ranked #5 in WV, comes from Southern WV. With Roy, Rapid most recently placed 4th at Campus Clash Spring 2024 in Huntington, WV, taking down Tei Tenga in a 3-2 set.
We also have Fartmaster42 signed up, who is #6 in WV. Located in Southern WV as well, Fartmaster42’s Wii Fit Trainer recently claimed 9th place at Almost Heaven 5 after losing a Game 5 set to Worry from KY.
Next up, we have Jakalaka who will be bringing Rosalina to the bracket. Ranked #8 in WV, and as a local Morgantown resident, Jakalaka is sure to be a threat, having placed 17th at Almost Heaven 5 after taking down Tei Tenga.
Last but certainly not least, Brady will be returning to this bracket! Brady was previously #1 in the state back in Fall 2019, Spring 2020, and Fall 2021. Most recently, Brady achieved 2nd place at a Southern WV tournament after a hard fought Grand Finals against Fartmaster42, going so far as to reset the bracket.
With this caliber of WV players in attendance, and more to come, you don’t want to miss this event!
Entry for the tournament is $5 for venue, and $5 per game, making for a strong prize pool for the winners. Doors will open at 11:00am ET, with Ultimate and Melee Doubles kicking off the day’s events at 11:45pm ET, so make sure to plan your travel accordingly.
If you haven’t already, be sure to register for COAL Monthly 15, and tune in to the stream on our Twitch channel throughout the event on April 13th!
