3RR Celebrates 100 Tournaments

PITTSBURGH, PA – Sentry Esports is proud to announce the 100TH EDITION of Pittsburgh’s premier local tournament series for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Three River Rumble began with the Pittsburgh Smash Community in July 2019. Led by Pittsburgh’s own PO (@deathbythursday), 3RR quickly became a mainstay tournament for Smash Ultimate held right here in the Steel City.

Sentry Esports took up the torch in October 2021 around its 33rd entry and has continued to run the series ever since. Carnegie Mellon University has long been a home for our Pittsburgh Smash community, and we are thankful for the opportunity to continue hosting our event in their incredible venue to this day. Every 3RR is filled with exciting moments, intense gameplay, and friendly faces.

Kicking off our celebration, what is more fitting for a 100th tournament celebration than a $100 pot bonus for Smash Ultimate singles? Come show off your skills for a chance to win the grand prize! Alongside Smash Ultimate singles, we will also have a Squad Strike side event!

As for the face of 3RR 100, we created two brand new logos! We will provide stickers (both versions available) to all competitors during check-in, commemorating this momentous occasion!

What would a celebration be without a cake? Courtesy of Your Sweet Cake Design Studio, we will have a sweet, delicious white sheet cake to serve all our guests! Marked with our new logo, and hand-crafted by the exceptionally talented owner and cake designer of Your Sweet, Jenna, you will love this sweet treat!

The festivities don’t end there! Every hour, we will be spinning a wheel to select a prize winner! If you’re feeling lucky, you might just walk away with a nice prize surprise!

This series would not be successful without the countless hours, hard work, and dedication from Team SMAK and our volunteers, and most importantly: you, our players. We cannot wait to bring you more events in the months and years to come!
